Miriam’s Sandwich Staphorster Fromance Pesto Tomato
Staphorster Fromance does something very simple for you: just a good cheese sandwich. The uncomplicated lunch that the Netherlands is mocked for worldwide but makes every cheese lover happy. This Staphorster Fromance sandwich with pesto and tomato is such a golden oldie and now completely plant-based. The pesto makes it daring and exotic by lowland standards. Do you dare?
Ingredients for 2 buns:
- 2 hard rolls
- Pack of Staphorster Italian Herbs
- Handful of arugula
- 5 cherry tomatoes
Preparation:
Heat a dash of oil in the pan and add the mustard seeds. Once the seeds start crackling, add the onion. Fry until it becomes translucent. Add the pulled jackfruit and fry for 2-3 minutes over medium-high heat. Add the garam masala, chili powder, and tomato paste. Mix and fry for 2 minutes. The curry is now ready. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Take a sheet of puff pastry and roll up the edges a bit. Make sure that when rolling, the points of the side you are rolling are slightly outward. Brush the edges with a bit of soy milk, so they bake to a beautiful golden brown. Place a slice of Staphorster Fromance Cumin generously over the puff pastry cup and break off any excess.
Save these leftovers to make 6-7 bites from the 5 slices. Place approximately 1.5-2 tablespoons of the jackfruit curry in the middle of each puff pastry cup. Then, bake them in the oven for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown.
Optionally, garnish with a sprig of coriander.
Enjoy your meal!
